  2. Nice initiative Ramesh, Sahadevan, Reno & Harishwar. I like Buses (specially Government Buses) from childhood and I share a lot of information with my friends. Will try my best to contribute to this site.

  3. Hai, Sahadevan, Ramesh, Reno & Harishwar. Me too a bus enthusiast from Thoothukudi. Today people does’nt know to differentiate the buses from their division. This is b’coz, all the buses have same color paint, body structure & design. No unique design. I dont know your age. I was born in 1982 in Thoothukudi, since then i have spent my childhood in Thirunelveli, Tiruchy,Thanjavur, mannargudi for my studies. All those places I saw the buses have unique body type. And when it comes to TTC, I admire it always. Those days many people know the timings of TTC. They are well known for their route coverage, speed, comfortable etc. Hats off to you guys. Since there is no Mobile phones on that days, it is hard for us to get the bus photos of 1980’s to 2000.

    • Well said about nowadays Status about TNSTC’s. It’s very strange to get those days buses Pictures.

TTC is one of the King in Roads in That days. Missing them lot now… BTW, thanks for your appreciation..

Keep visiting and Host up your suggestions…

  4. Congratulations & Nice initiative Gentlemen! Myself and my brother were great admirers of the bus service in our state of Tamilnadu. Those days, in 1971-72, the erstwhile TTC (Thiruvalluvar Transport Corporation) was then called as Tamilnadu Arasu Pokkuvarthu Kazhagam. The frequency of service and cost of commutation are commendable in our buses; Whereas, the quality of the body, seating comfort, leg room are pathetic in Tamilnadu buses; Anyone who is taller than 5′ 5″ cannot sit comfortably in our buses. I strongly believe the commuters do not demand comfort.

  10. It add feathers to your cap when some of the old photo’s for TTC are available in google. If there is an interview with old staff / Officers/People’s view of TNSTC is available you could post that…

  11. Hai Friends, During my child hood in the year approx 1985-86,when we were residing at Kovilpatti, I saw two vestibule buses operated between Madurai – Thirunelveli(Vice versa). One bus was Red & other in Blue.. It was an awesome experience for me seeing a to see a such lengthy buses in that age.. My Chithappa who has worked in TNSTC, Thirunelveli earlier, said that it was a trial run for few months… It would be nice if the State Govt launches vestibule buses for a long distance connecting all district HQ for Mass Transportation…
